Yo bitches.
I’ve been really into sourdough bread lately. I’m talking good sourdough bread, the fresh-baked kind. I’ve been getting it at the farmer’s market every Saturday. I’ve also been getting other tasty items, such as fresh eggs, broccoli, celery, leeks, Brussels sprouts, beets, green beans, red peppers, cucumbers, pears, pomegranates, grapefruits, kiwis, strawberries and raspberries.
So anyways I dip the bread in olive oil. It’s really fucking good.
Sourdough bread is wonderful.
This blog entry is dedicated to sourdough bread.
And to you.

Yesterday I was at a work lunch. We were being taken out by some reps. It came up that I drive a motorcycle.
The following exchange ensued between me and one of the reps:
Rep: You know what they say.
Me: They say a lot of things.
Rep: You’ve either been in a crash, or you will be in a crash.
What a dick thing to say. Of course he was saying that because he was in a crash when he was 17. I can’t stand when people think just because something happened to them that it’ll inevitably happen to everyone. And he drives a scooter now. Which is in no way safer than driving a motorcycle. It’s pretty much the same thing, but less fun and less cool.

Later he told me I look like Jimmy Kimmel. Which is… what the fuck? I told him he looks like Sean Astin, from the movie Rudy. Which was true.

He took major offense to this, which I found odd, since he’d just told me I look like a pudgy comedian. This woman tried to cover up for me and say I must have meant Mackenzie Astin from Facts of Life (which for some reason he accepted as being much better), so I agreed and said she was right, that’s who I meant.

I know you’re not reading this, but on the off chance you are, I want you to know, I meant Sean, not Mackenzie.
Other than those snafus, that guy was alright.

I’m bored. Today is so BORING.
Today is the most boring day. Watching football is boring, eating corn chowder is boring, doing my laundry is boring.

Watching an interview with Mickey Rourke wasn’t boring, but that was only 20 minutes long and now it’s over. (It was a special feature on the Angel Heart dvd and was very interesting. He is my favorite actor of all time. Maybe I will write a special post about him.)
Yesterday was not a boring day but today is. Why is today so boring?
Writing this is barely alleviating my boredom.

I wish someone would call me. I wish tons of people would call me. But then too many people would be calling me, and my ear would hurt.
I’m going to do more pull-ups. I need to get jacked.
Some people thrive on boredom. I don’t think I do. I’m not usually bored. Today is an exception.

Mark down this day, Sunday November whatever it is, 2008, this day was super boring and is of no significance and should not be recognized in any way.
And it’s only 2:30. If I were in New York it’d be 5:30.

I was rewatching some of Half Nelson about a week ago. Ryan Gosling is so great in that movie. It’s one of those performances that will make me have high regard for him forever, no matter what else he does
Other performances like that:
- Mark Ruffalo in You Can Count On Me
- Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Brick
Then tonight I watched Lars and the Real Girl. I saw the preview a long time ago and it looked so horribly stupid, I vowed never to see it. I changed my mind after remembering how great Ryan Gosling is.

It turns out, Lars and the Real Girl is a pretty good movie even if it is about a guy who dates a life-size doll. It’s touching without ever getting sappy. A lot of that is because of Gosling’s wonderful performance.
Recommended.
I’m going to bed early so I can wake up early. That is my new thing.
